It's an awful feeling, leaving the buoyancy of the water.

Well, it’s good to see that Zukah is back to his cranky self, and I’m waiting patiently for the bug to show up. :)

I’m afraid you may be giving the little fella more credit that he deserves!

I love Zukah’s attitude. Also, are the fish-men bubble-speaking, or speaking telepathically? I can’t tell because their mouths appear closed, but that could just be the way the panels look.

These guys have varying levels of telepathy. Most of them can’t do much more than communicate with one another like this. They have vocal chords — that’s what the king is using to speak in the last panel — but mostly just use them to speak “lung-tongue” outside of the water.

These fish-men look suitably fishy. It’s better than the bunch of generic blue dudes that pass for Atlanteans in Marvel, and much better than the bunch of generic white dudes from Aquaman’s kingdom in DC.

Hahaha, I’ve never read any Aquaman. Are his Atlanteans just Anglo-Saxon looking dudes like Kryptonians? Golly.

They look sort of like the Creature from the Black Lagoon crossed with a Zora.

Love the old gill face from Black Lagoon, but I’m not sure what a Zora is. I’ll take it as at least half a compliment, then, and in Vegas they say breaking even is winning!
